Property in Costa TropicalCosta Tropical, in the Province of Granada, is located East of Costa del Sol and West of Costa de Almeria. It is the smallest coastal province in the South of Spain with a 75km coastline and is very unique with the mountains running right down to the coast forming many small coves and promontories. The many mountains surrounding Costa Tropical creates a special microclimate with very nice temperatures all year round. The name of the coast comes from the big production of tropical fruits like mangos and kiwis in this area. The Costa Tropical is located only one hours drive from the capital of Granada and the famous ski resort Sierra Nevada. During some times of the year it is even possible to enjoy both the beaches and also skiing within the same week. Apart from the ski resort, the province of Granada is most know for the big Moorish castle and fortress Alhambra which is located in the city of Granada. The Costa Tropical has traditionally been a popular tourist destination for the Spanish population but is becoming more popular amongst foreigners who wish a more tranquil lifestyle to settle down. The particular landscape with many mountains near the coasts will never make it possible for Costa Tropical to grow as big as neighbouring Costa del Sol but there are still many developments taking place all over province. Most developments are of a smaller size but there are also a few bigger promotions taking place around the costal cities of Almuņecar, Salobreņa and Motril. Throughout the coast there are small unspoiled villages where, in some, it is still possible to find new smaller developments on the first line to a nearly private beach. |
